You can also file in the global / etc / my.cnf add options for mysql.server. Typical
`/ etc / my.cnf as follows:

[mysqld]
datadir = / usr / local / mysql / var
socket = / var / tmp / mysql.sock
port = 3306
user = mysql
[mysql.server]
basedir = / usr / local / mysql

mysql.server script can identify the following options: datadir, basedir and pidfile.
The following table is a startup script to read from the options in the Options group:

Script Option groups
mysqld mysqld and server
mysql.server mysql.server, mysqld, and server
safe_mysqld mysql.server, mysqld, and server
