Microsoft's June 14 in the MCP LiveMeeting officially released Windows Server 2008 certification road map. Concern about the new generation of Microsoft server operating system authentication is finally unveiled.

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 certification system will use Microsoft's next-generation certification structure, that is certification system MCTSàMCITP.

First of all, I came to a brief introduction of Microsoft's new certification system:

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): focused on configuring and troubleshooting key technologies. Focus on the key configuration and troubleshooting techniques

Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): focused on advanced infrastructure design. Focus on the design of high-level infrastructure

Windows Server 2008 Microsoft MCTS certification system would involve the following aspects:

1, Active Directory Domain Services AD Domain Services

2, Identity and access Management identity and access management

3, Internet Services Internet Service

4, Terminal Services Terminal Services

5, Networking Infrastructure Network Infrastructure

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Certification MCITP system will involve the following aspects:

1, Infrastructure Operations to implement infrastructure

2, Active Directory Design and Planning AD Design and plans

To examine the contents of the basis of the above, Windows Server 2008 system, there will be three MCTS exams, respectively, to examine AD, system architecture and application platform for specific subjects:

70-640: TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring Windows Server 2008 AD configuration

70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring Windows Server 2008 network infrastructure configuration

70-643: TS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform, Configuring Windows Server 2008 application Platform Configuration

Windows Server 2008 system, there will be two MCITP exams are:

70-646: Pro: Windows Server 2008 Administrator Windows Server 2008 Administrator

70-647: Pro: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator

Note: these two there is no affiliation between the MCITP, it should be said, Windows Server 2008 administrators to focus on system management, maintenance; Windows Server 2008 Enterprise system administrators to focus on planning, programming, deployment, management and maintenance

After the adoption of 70-640 and 70-642, and 70-646 test become MCITP: Server Administrator, a total of three exams to pass.

640 + 642 + 646 = MCITP: Server Administrator

And to become a MCITP: Enterprise Administrator, must be 70-640,70-642 and 70-643 adopted on the basis of the client test system plus exam 70-620: TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows vista Client or 70-624: TS: Deploying and Maintaining Windows Vista Client and 2007 Microsoft Office System Desktops, after the 70-647 test increases, it will take five exams passed.

640 + 642 + 643 + 620 (or 624) + 647 = MCITP: Enterprise Administrator

Possible at this stage, we are most concerned about is how to MCSE (MCSA) certification to upgrade to the new certification. Now I am on the MCSE and MCSA explain how to upgrade to next-generation operating system authentication.

First of all, I would like to note that holders of MCSA 2000 or MCSE 2000 certification friends, can not directly upgrade to the new certification system. Only Windows Server 2003 systems can be upgraded certification friends. In other words, if the holders of MCSA 2000 certification, the need to participate in 292 examinations, to upgrade to MCSA 2003; hold MCSE 2000 certification, 292 and 296 need to participate in the examination, to upgrade to MCSE 2003, and then participate in the examination corresponding upgrade to the new certification.

In addition, holders of MCSE (MCSA): Security safe direction and MCSE (MCSA): Exchange-bound friends, a new certification system will no longer have these two directions, the test has been covered in the new certification test subjects . The ISA Server and Exchange Server will have a separate MCTS and MCITP exams (on the Exchange Server 2007 certification has been introduced, as detailed in Microsoft's official site www.microsoft.com/learning/).

MCSA 2003 certification, if the holder, then the increase in test 70-648: Upgrading your MCSA on Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, will be MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure This two MCTS certificate.

MCSA + 648 = MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring

+ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring

= 640 + 642

If the holder of MCSE 2003 certification, then the increase in test 70-649: Upgrading your MCSE on Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008, will be MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring, MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform, Configuring all three MCTS certificates.

MCSE + 649 = MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring

+ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring

+ MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Platform, Configuring

= 640 + 642 + 643

Note: All examinations are unable to upgrade directly to upgrade to MCITP certification.

Therefore, holders of MCSA 2003 or MCSE 2003 certification friends, upgrade to MCITP, are required to test the relevant Pro examination, namely:

MCSA + 648 + 646 = MCITP: Server Administrator to test a total of 2

MCSA + 648 + 643 + 620 (or 624) + 647 = MCITP: Enterprise Administrator to test a total of four

MCSE + 649 + 646 = MCITP: Server Administrator to test a total of 2

MCSE + 649 + 620 (or 624) + 647 = MCITP: Enterprise Administrator to test a total of three

Recommendation: Thus, I strongly recommend, is now ready to begin MCSE certification and the future plan to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 Certification of friends, with 620 instead of 270 now popular as a client system MCSE exams, so that the upgrade to MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certification when no longer need to test 620 test!

Test price changes, China still is $ 50.

Finally, with regard to the introduction of the new certification system of the time, the official news is that Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Release to Manufacturing (RTM) version of the introduction of release one month after the MCTS exams, RTM version of the introduction of two MCITP exams released.
